HAWT POTATO is a potato you keep alive. Mini-games on this phone, and a passable potato you send to friends. We do not sell your data. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or App Tracking Transparency.
What we collect
- Display name you type in. Other players can see it on potatoes you send.
- A player ID from iCloud (CloudKit) so the app can tell who is holding a potato.
- Potato cards you light or receive, including the fuse, pass history, and who is holding. Stored on this device and in iCloud public records so the timer stays honest if someone is offline.
- Arcade scores, Spud XP, and unlocks. Stored on this device. Optional iCloud sync if you are signed in.
- Approximate or precise location only if you turn on potato location sharing. Default is Hidden.
- Contacts stay on this device. We read names and numbers only to address an iMessage knock. We do not upload your contacts.
- Nearby / Bluetooth / local network, only while the app is open, to find phones next to you.
- Motion sensors for Hawt Drop tilt. Touch Control is the alternative. We do not send motion data anywhere.
What we do not collect
- Email, payment info, or advertising analytics.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Sharing
Potato cards and display names are shared with people in that potato. iCloud is provided by Apple. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
- Keep location Hidden (default).
- Block or Report a player from the court or Settings. Reports go to support@hawtpotato.app.
- Delete All Data in Settings. This clears the game on this device.
Children
HAWT POTATO is not directed at children under 13. You must confirm you are 13 or older before playing.
